Terms of Service

Studio Splitz ("the Platform") is operated by CTRL Music Platforms LLC, an Illinois limited liability company with its principal place of business at 1 E Erie Street, Suite 525-2860, Chicago, IL 60611 ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including studio owners, contributors (engineers), and clients.

Studio owners register using email verification and password. Contributors are invited by studio owners and gain access through invitation links. Clients authenticate via one-time passcode (OTP) sent to their email when booking sessions.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate, current information during registration.

Studio Splitz provides a white-label booking portal that allows music studios to manage session bookings, accept payments, assign engineers, and distribute files to clients. The Platform is a tool for facilitating studio operations and does not itself provide music production services.

Bookings are created through a studio's public booking page. Depending on studio settings, bookings may be automatically confirmed or require manual approval from the studio owner or assigned engineer.

Each booking specifies a date, time, room, and optional engineer assignment. Session times are based on the studio's configured timezone. It is the client's responsibility to confirm the session time in their local timezone.

Payments are processed through Stripe. Studio owners must complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payments. The Platform supports full upfront payments and deposit-based bookings with balance due after session completion.

A platform fee is applied to each transaction based on the studio's subscription plan. Stripe processing fees (2.9% + 30 cents) are passed through to the customer as a separate line item at checkout.

Revenue splits between studio owners and contributors are configured by the studio and calculated automatically at the time of payment.

Studio Splitz offers tiered subscription plans (Starter, Pro, Studio, Scale) with varying limits on rooms, contributors, sessions, and storage. The Starter plan is free. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades are charged on a prorated basis. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. If a downgrade causes you to exceed your new plan's limits, some features may become restricted until usage is within limits.

Clients, studio owners, and contributors may cancel bookings through the Platform, subject to the studio's policies. Cancellations cannot be made for sessions that are already active, ended, or completed.

Refunds for cancelled bookings are handled at the studio's discretion in accordance with our Cancellation & Refund Policy. CTRL Music Platforms LLC does not independently issue refunds for studio services. Subscription cancellations will not result in prorated refunds for the current billing period.

Studios may upload session files (audio, documents, images) for client delivery through the Platform. Files are stored using Cloudflare R2 object storage. Storage limits vary by subscription plan.

Studio owners are responsible for the content they upload and must ensure they have the right to distribute any files shared through the Platform. Studio Splitz does not claim ownership of uploaded content.

Studio Splitz includes an AI-powered assistant ("Splitz") that helps studio owners with setup and configuration. The assistant uses Anthropic's Claude AI and has access to your studio profile, rooms, and settings to provide contextual guidance.

AI-generated suggestions are provided as guidance only. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming any changes suggested by the assistant before they are applied to your studio.

You agree not to: use the Platform for unlawful purposes; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems; interfere with the Platform's operation; upload malicious files or content; resell or redistribute Platform services without authorization; or use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Platform.

Studio Splitz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to lost revenue, missed bookings, or data loss.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to Studio Splitz in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violations of these terms. You may delete your account by contacting support. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, unless otherwise required by law.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
